You'll often hear the numbers "2010" around Squamish. In fact you'll see signs of the coming Winter Olympics all over the area. Like the athletes who are coming from around the world, Squamish is a city deep in training. You'll see it in the radical improvements to the Sea to Sky Highway. You'll find it in the careful planned blending of nature, heritage and future vision to create new city features that will include a major waterfront development, a new hotel, a conference centre and a public beach created through a complete restoration of a former industrial site. You'll find it right outside your door at The ParkHouse in its proximity to new linkages and sections of an interconnected trail system and public green spaces. With an eye to growth it also bears mentioning that Squamish will soon be the home to a new full service marine terminal that will accept both passenger ferries and visiting cruise ships.
